She is the creator of Viva la Vagina, an e-course for women designed to help women experience the full spectrum of orgasm and help them increase their capacity for pleasure.

This post is not a transcript, but written based on the information in the interview. We hope you enjoy both the interview recording and this article!

Women’s Sexual Health

Sexuality is not thought to be a part of our everyday life. It’s common to believe that you’re only sexual at certain times, for example when you’re having intercourse or when you masturbate. In fact, a healthy sexuality is understanding that the sexual part of yourself is always there. It’s part of the whole ‘you’. Read More

The Power Of Essential Oils

Essential oils have a variety of hormone balancing benefits, which is why they have earned a place in my natural healing tool kit.

In fact, I’ve been working with essential oils in my health coaching practice since 2013. Since, then, I have seen essential oils help to eliminate menstrual cramps and relieve menopause symptoms. I often prescribe essential oils to my private clients because the oils are so effective. This article is a primer on how to use my favorite oils for hormone balance. Read More

Self-Pleasure Your Way To Hormone Balance

By | Blog, Self-care | No Comments

This is a guest post by a colleague of ours, Courtney Davis. Learn more about Courney’s work here.

Its no secret that stress and cortisol directly impact your hormone balance and overall well being. When you prioritize your pleasure, you improve your health and beauty.

In addition, the orgasms and sexual pleasure you experience on a regular basis affects you in areas that no one really talks about – your self-confidence, your motivation, and how satisfied you feel with your life.

For many women, self-pleasure is not often a priority– and when they do self-pleasure, it usually centers around using a vibrator or their hand to briefly stimulate the clitoris to achieve one (or multiple) peak orgasms.

It’s true that this is fun and enjoyable! However, self-pleasuring in this way rarely enhances your life in a long-lasting, meaningful way.

self pleasure

When I coach women to self-pleasure with intention, I help them to use their sexual energy to fuel their life, unleash their gifts and purpose into the world, and of course, experience deeply fulfilling intimacy.

When you self-pleasure with the intention of exploring and deepening your connection with yourself, you will begin to know and appreciate your body on a more intimate level.

You’ll release shame, limiting beliefs, and experience immense self-love! In addition, intentional self-pleasure opens the doorway to sexual freedom and pleasure beyond what you’ve ever imagined.

So, how do you self-pleasure for personal transformation?

  1. Set an intention for your self-pleasure. Before you begin touching yourself, take some deep breaths, place a hand on your heart, and set an intention such as self-acceptance, self-love, or gentleness. Decide to nourish yourself and be completely present during this time. In addition, remove the goal of orgasm! By approaching self-pleasure with the intention to connect with and explore yourself, you will create space to experience new pathways of pleasure and orgasm.

  1. Whole-body massage. Give attention to your entire body– especially your breasts, hips, and inner thighs. Really spend time warming yourself up and visualize infusing love into your body with your hands. Breathe slow and deep while you do this.

  1. Go inside. After massaging your body, give attention to your vulva and pubic area. You can stimulate your clitoris but avoid making this the end-goal of your self-pleasure. If and when your vagina is ready (meaning she is wet, open, and feels ready for penetration), explore the inside. Using your hand or a non-vibrating wand, massage all throughout the inside of your yoni.

 self pleasure

The simple act of touching yourself internally may bring up emotion for you.

Be gentle and patient with yourself– take note of what you feel. It’s normal to feel numbness, pain, tension, and/or pleasure inside your vagina. Simply explore her and express love to her.

The more time and attention you devote in your self-pleasure practice to exploring inside your yoni, the more you will awaken profound depths of pleasure and self-discovery. The inside of the yoni holds deep layers of emotion and wisdom– so when you explore and unlock this, you awaken powerful intuition and potential!

Some keys to remember while you self-pleasure:

breathe deeply, maintain a loving intention, remove the goal of orgasm, and simply enjoy exploring your body!

If you’ve never self-pleasured in this way before, it is likely that you will experience immediate, profound shifts in your relationship with yourself and how you show up in the world. Your sexual relationship with yourself can and should be an ongoing journey of discovery and self-actualization.

Focus On Your Foundation: Health Basics You Need To Get Results

By | Adrenal Fatigue, Blog, Self-care | No Comments

Today, I’m going to share with you the health basics I wish I knew when I got started with nutrition and my own adrenal healing journey.

When I first started out, I loved to learn about superfoods, detox and herbalism. I was a sponge, sucking up all the nutritional inspiration I could get my hands on. At some point, I felt l knew quite a lot about these topics but struggled use the information effectively to get the results I was seeking. Read More

Do you feel ‘stuck’ in a stressed state?

Adrenal fatigue is caused when your body constantly operating in its sympathetic nervous system. This happens when you are chronically under stress, including stress you might not be aware of.

When we think about what stresses us out, obvious acute stressors come to mind. For example, a tight deadline at work, an unresolved argument with a friend or loved one, or a recent physical injury (stubbing your toe on the bed anyone??). Read More

Many women know what to do,

but they don’t always do it.

With loads of information right at our fingertips it’s easy to formulate a plan and schedule it in. However, it’s typical that information doesn’t change our habitual way of behaving. Take smoking for example; there’s lots of information about the dangers of cigarettes, however their addictive properties make it a difficult habit to break.

It’s so easy to let life get in the way of our ‘wise plans’, AKA the commitments we make to ourselves. Wise plans are formed in the epic strategy sessions we have where we plan to reach our goals. The issue isn’t misinformation or lack of preparation.

The real problem is lack of accountability.

A Rich Detox Bath To Relieve Cramps

By | Blog, Self-care | No Comments

Ever wonder why you crave chocolate before your period?

Chocolate is high in magnesium and your body’s’ magnesium need increases before your period. Magnesium is an important mineral for women’s hormone balance and optimal health in general. Magnesium activates over 300 enzyme reactions in the body, translating to thousands of biochemical reactions happening on a constant basis daily.

If you have bad cramping during your period, taking a magnesium bath can help soothe and relax the muscles in and around your uterus. Magnesium is highly absorbable through the skin and when you soak in a bath the magnesium will target the muscles to help relax your body and reset your stress hormones.

Here is Madeline’s favorite bath recipe that has salt and magnesium to detoxify and alkalize the body. Making up a few prepared jars of magnesium flakes and salt can make it more convenient to draw yourself a relaxing magnesium and salt bath.

5 Ways to Get Natural Glowing Skin With Beauty Recipes From Home

By | Blog, Self-care | 4 Comments

Natural glowing skin. A women’s dream and deep desire.

We all want it and we want it bad! The multi-billion dollar beauty industry can certainly attest to that.  But what you could obtain natural glowing skin more easily then you thought? Do we really need to spend our money on expensive products and cosmetic procedures?

I’m on the quest for natural glowing skin since I was a teenager dealing with hormonal acne. I would devour fashion magazines and beauty ‘how-to’ books, always looking for ‘the answer’.

I found much more solace when I came across books with natural beauty recipes and became obsessed with crafting my own home spa. I found a spark inside myself when I started to pick roses from my grandfather’s garden to make floral waters to spritz my skin with.

My pursuit of beauty has always been etched in my soul. Now it has blossomed into something far from my superficial teenage quest. I’ve learned some amazing things on the way that I’m excited to share with you.

5 Ways To Get Natural Glowing Skin

1. Keep It Simple

When it comes to skin care, less is more. From personal experience my skin has always been more radiant when I use a select few products. Even a ‘natural’ organic product may use fillers, rancid oils and ingredients that can clog pores. As a result, I love to make my own skincare products! In this way I can control the ingredients and keep it super simple.

2. Oil Cleansing

I learned this tip from Nadine Artemis from Living Libations.  Even if you have oily skin, you have to try washing your face with natural oil! Jojoba oil is similar to the natural oils our skin creates. When we wash our face with soap-based cleansers, they can strip the natural oil layer from the skin. This dries out the skin and causes breakouts and wrinkles. Simply apply the oil to a face cloth or a cotton pad and gently massage the oil into your face. Rinse with water and pat dry. This is cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing all in one. Check out this video for a how-to guide Best Skin Ever

3. Clay Masks

Apply a clay face mask for a low cost yet luxurious spa experience.  A clay mask deep cleanses, absorbs impurities, heals blemishes and exfoliates. Bentonite clay is particularly moisturizing. Mix a cosmetic clay such as bentonite or French green clay with some water to make a paste. You can also add essential oils such as lavender, chamomile or frankincense to your mask. Apply to skin and let it sit for 15 minutes before washing it off.  You can do this once a week.

4. Floral Hydrosol

Floral hydrosols, also known as floral waters, are byproducts from steam-distilling plant materials to make essential oils. They make the perfect toners because they have cellular rejuvenating benefits the same ph as our skin. Most municipal water used for bathing is more alkaline then our skin. This can cause premature aging and a less than vibrant complexion. Because of this, end your bathing sessions with a spritz of hydrosol to reset your skin to its original PH.

5. Seabuckthorn Oil

In my years of working in health food stores I have seen this berry work wonders on people’s skin.  I’ve seen it cure acne, blemishes and skin rashes. Seabuckthorn is good for dry and oily skin alike. You can use the seed oil straight on your skin or add the fruit oil to skincare products you make. When in doubt– use seabuckthorn!
