The Ultimate Adrenal Fatigue Weight Loss Guide

By | Adrenal Fatigue, Blog | No Comments

Hold it right there…

To understand adrenal fatigue weight loss, you first need to know which stage of adrenal fatigue you’re in. If you’re not absolutely sure, take our quiz to find out.

When you have adrenal fatigue, the simple logic of ‘eat less, exercise more’ doesn’t apply anymore.

Have you tried to restrict your fat or carb intake, or reduce your portion size? In fact, many of my clients find that the less they eat the more weight they gain, especially around the middle. This is frustrating but all too common!

To make matters worse, exercise is no longer invigorating. When you’re burnt out it can take days to recover from a hard workout. Try and burn calories with a sweaty spin session or an intense reformer Pilates class and you feel like you need to go to bed ASAP!

Nutrition and exercise are the two main pillars of physical health. However, when we have symptoms like low energy, brain fog, and stubborn weight we need to switch up our approach.

In this article, we will show you why what you’re doing isn’t working (and what to do instead). We’ll also give you a PDF to help you walk through the new approach for nutrition and exercise when you’re healing adrenal fatigue. Read More

7 Unexpected Types Of Stress That Keep You Fatigued

By | Adrenal Fatigue, Blog | No Comments

Here’s the scenario: you’re tired, gaining weight (you see it around your middle), you’ve developed a bad attitude towards your husband and you seem to have very little energy (or patience) to do anything about it.

You spend your weekends recovering and doing chores that you should have done during the week. But after work, all you can do is sit in front of the TV and Netflix with a glass of wine in hand to take the edge off.

You feel like the weight of your life is crushing you and there’s very little you can do about it.

Wow, that’s no way to live! However, this is a story that’s so common for many women. And if you’ve been feeling like this for some time, you may have adrenal fatigue. Read More

Intermittent Fasting And Hormone Balance

By | Blog, Hormone Balance Basics | No Comments

What Is Intermittent Fasting?

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you eat within a defined period of time and otherwise avoid eating. For the purpose of this article, intermittent fasting means eating within a 6-9-hour window and avoiding food for 16-18 hours. This is usually achieved by eating dinner around 6:00-8:00 pm and eating the first meal of the day around 10:00 am to noon.

Intermittent Fasting Benefits

This controlled eating pattern has many benefits including:

  • reduce insulin resistance (it can lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes)
  • increase human growth hormone which is important for tissue repair, healing, muscle mass
  • improve cellular repair and remove waste materials from cells
  • weight loss (including belly fat)
  • reduce inflammation
  • improve brain health

You can see why intermittent fasting is something to consider! However, you’re probably wondering if intermittent fasting is okay for women, especially women with a hormone imbalance.

That answer is not a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’. It depends on what kind of hormone imbalance you have. Read More

He writes,

‘Schizandra is “the herb that does it all.” It develops and protects the primary energies of life. Schizandra, known as the “quintessence of Chinese tonic herbs,” supports vitality and beauty when used regularly for some time. It is said to promote beautiful skin. Schizandra is said to help purify the blood, support the mind, help maintain a strong memory, and help maintain sexual energy and sexual functions in both men and women.’

Self-Pleasure Your Way To Hormone Balance

By | Blog, Self-care | No Comments

This is a guest post by a colleague of ours, Courtney Davis. Learn more about Courney’s work here.

Its no secret that stress and cortisol directly impact your hormone balance and overall well being. When you prioritize your pleasure, you improve your health and beauty.

In addition, the orgasms and sexual pleasure you experience on a regular basis affects you in areas that no one really talks about – your self-confidence, your motivation, and how satisfied you feel with your life.

For many women, self-pleasure is not often a priority– and when they do self-pleasure, it usually centers around using a vibrator or their hand to briefly stimulate the clitoris to achieve one (or multiple) peak orgasms.

It’s true that this is fun and enjoyable! However, self-pleasuring in this way rarely enhances your life in a long-lasting, meaningful way.

self pleasure

When I coach women to self-pleasure with intention, I help them to use their sexual energy to fuel their life, unleash their gifts and purpose into the world, and of course, experience deeply fulfilling intimacy.

When you self-pleasure with the intention of exploring and deepening your connection with yourself, you will begin to know and appreciate your body on a more intimate level.

You’ll release shame, limiting beliefs, and experience immense self-love! In addition, intentional self-pleasure opens the doorway to sexual freedom and pleasure beyond what you’ve ever imagined.

So, how do you self-pleasure for personal transformation?

  1. Set an intention for your self-pleasure. Before you begin touching yourself, take some deep breaths, place a hand on your heart, and set an intention such as self-acceptance, self-love, or gentleness. Decide to nourish yourself and be completely present during this time. In addition, remove the goal of orgasm! By approaching self-pleasure with the intention to connect with and explore yourself, you will create space to experience new pathways of pleasure and orgasm.

  1. Whole-body massage. Give attention to your entire body– especially your breasts, hips, and inner thighs. Really spend time warming yourself up and visualize infusing love into your body with your hands. Breathe slow and deep while you do this.

  1. Go inside. After massaging your body, give attention to your vulva and pubic area. You can stimulate your clitoris but avoid making this the end-goal of your self-pleasure. If and when your vagina is ready (meaning she is wet, open, and feels ready for penetration), explore the inside. Using your hand or a non-vibrating wand, massage all throughout the inside of your yoni.

 self pleasure

The simple act of touching yourself internally may bring up emotion for you.

Be gentle and patient with yourself– take note of what you feel. It’s normal to feel numbness, pain, tension, and/or pleasure inside your vagina. Simply explore her and express love to her.

The more time and attention you devote in your self-pleasure practice to exploring inside your yoni, the more you will awaken profound depths of pleasure and self-discovery. The inside of the yoni holds deep layers of emotion and wisdom– so when you explore and unlock this, you awaken powerful intuition and potential!

Some keys to remember while you self-pleasure:

breathe deeply, maintain a loving intention, remove the goal of orgasm, and simply enjoy exploring your body!

If you’ve never self-pleasured in this way before, it is likely that you will experience immediate, profound shifts in your relationship with yourself and how you show up in the world. Your sexual relationship with yourself can and should be an ongoing journey of discovery and self-actualization.

Chocolate Mint Fat Bombs For Hormone Balance

By | Blog, Hormone Balancing Recipes, Snacks | One Comment

Our fat bomb recipe helps with hormone balance.

Do you experience afternoon sugar cravings? You’re not alone; it’s totally normal to be hungry for a snack at 3pm.

However, if you refuel with a sugar-filled snack or grab a coffee, you’re thwarting your efforts to attain hormone balance and stable energy levels.

Indeed, it’s important to avoid sugar if you’re struggling to balance your hormones. It’s a vicious cycle: a hormone imbalance can cause your body to become resistant to insulin (which is a hormone). Your pancreas then has to produce more insulin to keep your blood sugar within a normal range.

In addition, your body will store the excess sugar in fat cells, which releases the excess glucose and affects your blood sugar levels even when you haven’t eaten for a while.
